This book includes essays from important Taiwanese authors from 1949 to the present, designed to supplement intermediate-level Chinese language curricula with exciting cultural material. Included are the writers Lin Yutang, Tzu Min, Hei Yi and many more. A brief biography of each author is included in each section, along with detailed English annotations. Both the Yale Romanization and the Mandarin phonetic symbols are used in the transcription of all entries. The actual essays, in traditional Chinese characters, are found in a separate section at the back of the book.
