Teacher Fabre devoted his life to the study of living insects. He regarded insects as living entities, and often assumed that he was a small insect. It could be a dung beetle in cow dung, or a burial insect and maggot under the corpse of a mole... He further designed experiments to confirm the observed insect behaviors with his own eyes, and thus discovered the subtle connection between the instincts of many insects and the natural ecology.
